    • The Texas Common Course Numbering System (TCCNS) is a voluntary, co-operative effort among 134 Texas community colleges and universities to facilitate transfer of freshman and sophomore level general academic coursework.  

University / Location / Criteria for Tuition Assistance

To qualify for tuition assistance, students must meet the following requirements:
Be a Texas resident / Be admitted to the university / Have submitted the FAFSA to the respective university
  • Angelo State University / San Angelo : Blue and Gold Guarantee 
    • Admitted to Angelo State University by the priority review date of May 1 for the fall or Sept. 1 for the spring            
    • Be a Texas resident 
    • Entering college as a first-time freshman or transfer student Fall 2025 or after.

    • Family Income $70,000 or less
       

  • East Texas A&M / Commerce : Presidential Scholarship [freshmen only ] & Blue and Gold Transfer Scholarship

    • Be admitted to the university and enter East Texas A&M in the calendar year of graduation from a two year school with an earned associate degree or 45 credit hours without gaps in enrollment.

    • Be enrolled in and complete at least 15 credit hours of East Texas A&M coursework during each fall or spring semester as an undergraduate student working towards first undergraduate degree.

    • Texas A&M coursework during each fall or spring semester as an undergraduate student working towards first undergraduate degree.

    • Family Income AGI $85,000 or less

    • Eligible for up to 8 semesters (Fall and Spring)

    • Maintain a 2.0 GPA
       

  • Lamar University / Beaumont : Lamar Promise
    • Have a Household Income (per IRS regulations) of no more than $40,000
    • Enroll in a minimum of 12 semester credit hours per semester within their program of study (can cover up to 15 credit hours)
    • Renewable for 4 years
       
  • Texas A&M University Corpus Christi / Corpus Christi : Islander Guarantee  [Freshman only]

    • Must maintain a 2.5 GPA

    • Students must enroll in at-least 15 credit hours per semester Fall/Spring

    • Must complete at least 30 hours at the end of the Spring semester at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi

    • Family Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) is $125,000 or less and meet other criteria.

  • Midwestern State University / Wichita Falls : Mustangs Guarantee

    • Family Income AGI $65,000 or less 

    • Eligible for four years, excluding summers 

    • Must maintain 2.0 GPA
       

  • Texas A&M University Kingsville / Kingsville : Javelina Promise

    • First time in college or transfer undergraduate working on first bachelor’s degree 

    • Family income of $65,000 or less 

    • Maintain 2.5 GPA
       

  • Rice University / Houston : The Rice Investment

    • First Time Freshman or eligible transfer student

    • Income Range - $140K - 200K Half tuition; $75K - 140K full tuition; $75K & below full tuition, fees, room/board

    • Renewable 3 years
       

  • Texas A&M University San Antonio / San Antonio : Jaguar Promise

    • First time in college or transfer

    • Family Income AGI $70,000 or less

    • Must enroll in 12 credit hours each semester

    • Renewable by maintaining GPA eligibility
       

  • Sam Houston State University / Huntsville : Bearkat Promise

    • Must enroll in 12 credit hours each semester

    • Family Income AGI $40,000 or less

    • Maintain 2.5 GPA
       

  • Texas A&M International University / Laredo : Dusty Promise

    • First time in college or transfer
